Members’ Gatherings

Monthly Gatherings are open to all members and visitors. They are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:15pm at North Ryde RSL, 27-41 Magdala Rd, North Ryde NSW 2113.

At these gatherings you’ll be able to catch up with the latest happenings in the Club as well as enjoy a social evening with other members – we’ll usually see upwards of 60 members at a gathering. A guest speaker is often invited to present a topic of interest.

Arrive early, enjoy a delicious meal, have a drink or a cappuccino at the bar and meet up with old (and young) mates.

We also take this opportunity to offer our quality regalia products for sale, and provide access to the Club’s library of books and videos.

North Ryde RSL is cheap to join, which makes entry very easy and includes a discount at the bar and on meals.

On Tuesday the 9th of December, we’ll be boarding the Soren Larson at Campbells Cove in The Rocks to celebrate Christmas with a harbour cruise.

We set sail at 6:00pm and the cruise is three hours long, so we’ll be back on land around 9:00pm.

The cost is $50 for members and $75 for non-members and guests. A buccaneers barbeque will be provided, drinks at your own cost..

To register, log in to your member account to be presented a subsidised ticket at a discounted rate for MG Car Club Sydney members.

This subsidised rate includes additional members on a family membership, but not non-member family or guests of members on individual memberships.

If you would like to bring along a non-member guest, please add a guest ticket at time of registration.

If you would like to purchase a ticket for a family member who is a member of the club, please do so on behalf of your family member by registering again and putting in your family member’s email address during the registration process.

Come along to celebrate the end of the year with the club.

On Sunday the 4th of January, 2026, we will be making an MG Car Club Sydney display at Donington Auctions AutoBrunch to welcome Lindsay Cox from the Gloucestershire MG Owners Club UK during his Sydney Visit. For those looking to extend the morning, we’ll take a short run to lunch at Saddles Mount White, where we’ll have lunch at the Saddles Barn cafe following cars ‘n coffee.

Please register online via Wild Apricot to give us an idea of numbers. If you’d like to continue on to Saddles, just reply here and let me know. We’ll head out on the run at about 11:00am.

Entry to AutoBrunch is free for members of the North Shore Sporting Car Club and spectators. If you are not a member and would like to join the display, you can register online ahead of time at this link for a discounted rate of $4.00, or just pay $5.00 at the gate. Correct change is appreciated.

Upon arrival, let the gate know you’re an MG Club member, and they’ll guide you to our reserved area.

Last year a few of us caught up with Lindsay during his visit to see his daughter and her family after they had made a move from Sydney to the Central Coast. He had been in touch with Steve Lumley and Alan Heritage regarding mutual interests in MGC cars.

Lindsay is the very proud owner of a Snowberry White MGC convertible in the UK. Since his return to the UK after his visit last year he has been posting Facebook articles about RMO 699F ‘Romeo’, one of the pair of factory Sebring prepared light-weight, race MGC GTSs which was bought recently by his good friend Paul Mount in the UK.

This car was originally prepared and entered by the BMC in the 1969 12 hour Sebring, where it finished sixth in class driven by Paddy Hopkirk and Andrew Hedges. In March 2025, the car was invited by Automobile Racing Club of Florida to participate in a display at the 12 hour Sebring endurance weekend. After shipping to Miami the car featured in the Sebring ‘Gallery of legends’ and was inducted into their hall of fame.

Lindsay and his wife Mary will be travelling to Sydney at the end of 2025, both to visit family and attend the 5th Ashes test match in Sydney. They will be available on Sunday 4 January to attend the Donington St Ives Autobrunch with a lunch visit to Saddles, 20 Ashbrookes Road, Mount White, on their return journey to the Central Coast.

The Rob Roy Revival will run for a fourth time in 2026 over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of March.

Competitor bump-in, scrutineering, driver briefing and timed runs will be held on the Saturday, with the public festival held on Sunday the 29th of March.

Located at Australia’s oldest hillclimb track, the Rob Roy Revival is a celebration of classic motorsport and life in ’50s and ’60s.

Step back in time to one of the most stylish eras and soak up the atmosphere of classic cars, fashion, music, local food and more. Attendees are encouraged to dress in vintage ’50s and ’60s fashion and immerse in the festival feel.

The 2026 event will feature Italian automotive excellence and John Bowe AM will act as the event patron.
