1971 MGB GT
This car was originally exported from the factory to Singapore (British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate available), and then somehow made its way to Australia.
Registered in NSW as 80624H, it was previously owned by two members of the Club – Albert Durst and Colin Baxter. Colin had the original three speed automatic transmission replaced by a five speed manual gearbox.
The car presents very well as shown by it being awarded a prize by the Canberra MG Club at the Battle of Waterloo Display in June. It is a delight to drive.
Recent service history is available. A new battery was fitted in July.
It is currently located in Canberra, where I am the Treasurer of the local Mini Club. Where I live I am not able to garage both it and my newly acquired 1997 Rover Mini Cooper.
