Photo Gallery: September 2018 Illawarra Register Run to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society

This past Thursday the 27th of September, 2018, saw us heading to the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) for a run and tour hosted by the Illawarra Register.

We met at Illawarra Regional Airport, catching up over coffee at the cafe before heading off on a fascinating tour of the facility and aircraft. Read on for a few thoughts from Ingo Weinberger, and then enjoy his photos from the day below.

Thanks to Ingo Weinberger

“This was a very informative and enjoyable tour – thanks to Michael Hough for organising it!

The tour offered much better opportunities to look at the aircraft up close than you would have at something like Wings Over Illawarra – although sadly minus the flying demos.

We were able to sit in an F111’s pilot seat, which was very cool. Just don’t push the red button! The World War II Mustang fighter has a rumble seat for short, medium and grand tours.

A fun and interesting day. Thanks again to Michael and the Illawarra Register for hosting.”

Once again great photo coverage from Ingo Weinberger. And how great to actually see Ingo himself in one of the photos! Good one.
