Event Details
The 2021 Alf Luckman Memorial Fish & Chips Run has been postponed to Saturday, January 30th.
Due to NSW Health COVID-19 restrictions currently in place limiting outdoor gatherings to 30 people, the Alf Luckman Memorial Fish and Chip Run is postponed until January 30th 2021, subject to relaxation of these restrictions.
NSW Health is set to review the current COVID restrictions on January 14th 2021. Following their announcement, a decision will be made on the event. If the numbers remain at 30, the event will be cancelled. Should the number increase to 50 or more, the event will go ahead.
As the run usually attracts 70 or so participants, we will need to have a clear indication of numbers attending and pre-booking will be required. The number attending will be strictly capped at the level allowed by NSW Health at the time.
A further running board will be sent out to confirm details for the run following the NSW Health announcement when we know what restrictions will apply.
Information about the run can be obtained on the Club website or in the last two issues of Opposite Lock.
Meanwhile, for those wishing to attend, please contact me with your name and the numbers in your party by January 25th, 2021 by e-mail: [email protected] or by text message only please on: 0457 411 681.

Saturday January 30th 2021, Berowra Waters Picnic Area.
Convoy Meet: The Bull & Bush Hotel, Corner of Windsor & Seven Hills Rd Baulkham Hills
Time: 4.00 pm for a 4.30pm departure, estimated time of arrival 5.00pm at Berowra Waters.
The drive is quite picturesque, fully sealed and easy to navigate. Maps & Directions of the route to Berowra will be provided, for those that require them, however the route is easily obtained from a Navman/iPhone or similar device.
Non-convoy Meeting: most participants from the northern suburbs elect to take the Pacific Highway to Berowra and then follow Berowra Waters Rd down to the Punt, cross the river and assemble at the Picnic area.
Parking is plentiful. We will not be assembled in one area but scattered in groups within the available spaces.
Food: BYO, enjoy the locally available fish & chips. Three BBQs are available, at a nominal charge, for those who wish to cook their own. Seating is limited in the fixed undercover shelters, so please bring your own fold up chairs and tables.
Enjoy the cool of the evening as you wine and dine with theother MGCC members. Traditionally this is the opening event for the MGCC Sydney’s calendar each year and is one of the more popular
gatherings. All members are most welcome.
The vehicle you arrive in is your choice. All the better if it is an MG, but that is not essential. This is a social event, designed to meet other MGCC members, discuss cars, politics or whatever is your interest.
Hope to see you there, should Covid restrictions allow.
